Boat sale Euroclassic
We can accompany you should you be interested in a new build Euroclassic barge.
EuroClassics are a traditional style barge built for cruising the inland waterways of Europe in style and comfort. They provide ample accommodation for both holiday and live-aboard use, and incorporate design features developed over many years both in charter and private use. They are boats that are built to last, providing many years of comfortable cruising and a low level of depreciation. They have large cabins, comfortable saloons and spacious aft decks. The cabins provide ample space for walk around island beds with en-suite showers and toilets. The saloon features a split galley together with dining and seating areas. The aft deck is the icing on the cake providing the outside space for everyone to enjoy the passing countryside, with enough room for both the helm position and a large table and chairs.
EuroClassics are built using a mixture of modern technology and traditional craftsmanship. The hull is designed using a CAD system and verified by a navel architect. The computer then exports the data to a laser cutting bed which ensures each steel plate is cut to perfection. This makes for a stronger hull with less visible welds but also ensures easy repeatability. The EuroClassics steel work is as follows: 10mm floor plates; 6mm hull sides; a shallow chine; 5mm end bulkheads and 4mm side plates to superstructure; 5mm roof section and channel strakes continuously welded top and bottom. This gives the boat enormous strength and whilst it may appear to be over engineered, by using heavier plate we reduce the need for so much ballast and provides additional rigidity and longevity. This additional weight also provides stability both while underway and while static which is important for a live aboard boat.
The interior is finished in wood and is built by traditional craftsmen. There is a huge range of finishes available from full wood to coloured wooden panels, allowing you the choice of a traditional or modern finish. All the wood-work is built by our inhouse cabinet makers and this allows a high degree of customisation. The boats feature a solid oak floor which combines warmth and durability together with a good level of insulation. Before the wood side and roof panels are fitted the boat is spray foamed which keeps the boat cool in summer and warm in winter.
The fit out is at customers discretion but normally includes, diesel fired central heating, air conditioning, electric flush toilets, 220v supply and inverter, LED lighting, fridge and freezer, oven and 4 burner hob, CD radio etc.
Propulsion on the latest model is hydraulic with the 75bhp Beta Marine engine coupled directly to the hydraulic pump. This provides enough power for both propulsion and a powerful hydraulic bow thruster. The 4 bladed prop gives excellent low speed control and minimal prop walk which is an advantage when manoeuvring and locking through. The exterior helm has the engine control panel, hydraulic steering and the bow thruster control. Steering from the large aft deck is a pleasure as you have excellent all-round vision and can position the boat perfectly.
The electrical systems on the boat are both 12v and 220v. The large battery bank is charged from a 175 amp alternator or by shore supply. All the pumps, lights and domestic appliances run on a 12v supply providing comfortable living on this power. However, the 12v systems are complimented by the 220v systems provided by shore supply or by the 3kva onboard invertor. The 220v supply powers the air conditioning, battery charger, immersion heaters and sockets throughout the boat. A generator is available as an option for those who wish to add further domestic appliances.
Comfort is the key! The 12v/220v systems using a large battery bank and modern self-switching invertor is crucial to comfortable living, as is the provision of hot water. Onboard there are two thermostatically controlled tanks and hot water is provided by both the engine via a calorifier loop, or by 2 immersion heaters powered by the 220v. Add to this, central heating and air conditioning and you have all the key elements in place. A EuroClassic provides a comfortable, spacious environment with all your needs catered for a real floating home from home.
